Mini Dragons take Sussex by storm

Well done to the mighty mini dragons who competed at the Sussex red and yellow competition at Ashington.

In group 1 the club was represented by Shaylin Komisarek, Boris Geshkov, Lukas Pulokas, James Peckham, Teddy Adamson, Tommy Williams and Nathaniel Butler-King. The boys all fought hard, showing how for they have come since starting their training. Final results were bronze medals for Boris, Teddy, Tommy and Nathaniel. Silver medals for James and Lukas and Shaylin took the 1st gold of the day.

In group 2 the boys got off to a great start as Jacob Bladen and Seamus O'Connell were on fire winning all their contests with superb ippon throws both taking the gold. Joseph Wheatley and Kaleem Kiyani took a well deserved silver losing out in the final but taking away some great experience and Josh Butler-King and Reece Comber completed the group with a hard fought for bronze medal.

In the girls group Kin Ryu was represented by Ana Kavanagh, Bella Gotthard, Sienna Robottom, Gracie O'Connell, Sophia Bladen and Freya Wheatley. Like the boys the girls stepped up and brought their A game to the competition. For most it was their 1st event but they looked confident and gave it their all. Final results were gold for Bella and Sienna. Silver for Ana and bronzes for Gracie, Freya and Sophia.

Well done dragons!
