Dragons take on the best at GB National Team Championships

Congratulations to all the Kin Ryu athletes selected to represent team South at the National Team Championships held this year in Walsall.

The National teams is one of GB's premier events with top players selected from around the Country to compete for their region against the other regions in the Country.

Kin Ryu had 8 athletes selected for the championships.

Pre Cadet Boys

U38kg Viadotas Pulokas

U46kg Sebbie Robottom

U50kg Daniil Grishin

U55kg Sam Tang

O60kg Peter Crawford

Pre Cadet Girls

U48kg Lucy Robinson

U57kg Rebecca Worrall

Cadet Boys

U60kg Declan Knight

The teams fought well against tough opposition. In the Pre Cadet boys the lads started well coming second in their pool to head into the semi-finals. Here they met the mighty London team, and in a thrilling battle it went all the way to the wire and the last contest but London won 3:4 so the lads won a great bronze medal.

In the Pre Cadet girls and Cadet boys it was a similar story as the team won through their pools and moved through into the semi-finals. Here it was team Scotland who proved too tough to handle and both the girls and the boys took a well-deserved bronze medal.

As well as the athletes we had coach Clare Bowie selected as a team South coach and our referees were out in force.

Well done dragons!
