Mini Dragons come together to raise money for Brain Tumour Research

On Thursday 28th May, Kin Ryu Judo Club teamed up with Lewes Bridgeview Judo Club for a very special tournament. Not only was this a chance for the clubs youngest members to try competing but the event was also raising money for one of our members Linda Goode who is herself fighting her own fight against a high grade brain tumour.

The evening saw 54 young players aged from 5-11yrs competing and showing their skills as well as our young officials all for a good cause with proceeds of the evening going to Brain Tumour Research.

There were some superb performances on the mat, and despite some initial nerves as the children competed for the 1st time, these were soon replaced by smiles as they had fun and enjoyed the amazing support from our parents who made the evening a total success. The medals were presented by Mia and Phil Goode, Linda's daughter and husband with Mia herself being one of the clubs national players and Commonwealth Tournament Bronze medallist.

The evening raised an incredible £1000 for this amazing cause and final results were:

Gold:

Shaylin Komisarek, Lewis Beer, Arun Rubakaran, Issac Sanger, Kiera Dengate, Teddy Adamson, Henry Peckham, Ziggy Pulokas, Ted Bedford

Silver:
